Perkembangan Pendidikan Islam Masa Dinasti Umayyah

Abstract

The development of Islamic education has existed since the time of the Prophet Muhammad until the modern era today. During the Umayyad Dynasty, Islamic education began to develop and grow faster, because there were several renewals during that period, experts agree that the Umayyad dynasty period was the "incubation" period of education. Therefore, because of the services of the Umayyad dynasty, this study was conducted with the aim of describing how Islamic education was achieved during the Umayyad dynasty as an incubation period of education. In conducting the research, the researcher used descriptive research with the type of library research or literature study. Data retrieval in this study came from literature in the form of books, articles, and other library materials. The results of this study indicate that Islamic education during the Umayyad Dynasty period has experienced a development that can be seen from the characteristics of education and education patterns that have been divided into tiered education (primary, secondary, and higher). The development of education during the Umayyad Dynasty made a good contribution to the world of education, especially Islamic education, which can be felt until now.
