Abstract

This research aims to analyze the educational thinking of Azyumardi Azra, an Indonesian Muslim scholar who plays a major role in advancing Islamic education. This research uses a literature review method by collecting and analyzing Azra's works and thoughts on education. The focus of this research is Azra's views on the integration of Islamic education with the values ??of modernity, the importance of inclusivity, and its role in shaping the character of a moderate and tolerant nation. Azra argues that Islamic education is not only a means of teaching religion, but also an instrument for building an open, progressive society that is able to adapt to global change. The results of the study show that Azra's thoughts make a significant contribution in formulating the concept of education that is not only rooted in Islamic values ??but also relevant to contemporary challenges. These findings are expected to provide a new perspective in the development of the Islamic education curriculum in Indonesia, as well as being an inspiration for the development of an education system that is in line with the spirit of pluralism and moderation.
